Jamie Lowell arrives in Omaha, Nebraska, concerned after her repeated attempts to contact her grandmother go unanswered. Upon reaching her grandmother's apartment building, located adjacent to a cornfield, she finds it eerily vacant except for two enigmatic children wandering the premises. Investigating further, Jamie learns that her grandmother has been served an eviction notice. Seeking assistance, she approaches Detective Armbrister but receives little support. During a visit to the local grocery store, she encounters the same mysterious children, though they remain silent and distant. Outside the store, she notices a priest standing in the street, intently staring at her. Troubled by these unsettling events, Jamie returns to her grandmother's apartment, only to discover a cryptic message left behind: "Jamie go home."
