Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald meet briefly in a Muggle teashop, where their shared emotions are acknowledged. Grindelwald expresses his intent to annihilate the Muggle world, a vision Dumbledore rejects as irrational, admitting that his earlier support stemmed from his romantic feelings for Grindelwald. Meanwhile, in 1932, Newt Scamander is present in Kweilin prefecture, China, to assist a qilin, a rare magical creature capable of perceiving one's soul and glimpsing the future, during its birthing process. However, Credence, accompanied by Rosier and Carrow, launches an attack, resulting in the death of the mother and the abduction of the newborn qilin. Unbeknownst to them, the qilin had twins, and Newt successfully rescues the younger sibling before succumbing to exhaustion. With remarkable timing, a wyvern from Newt's traveling menagerie intervenes, ensuring their escape to safety.
