A train pulls into the Old West town of Flagstone, where a mysterious man, later referred to as "Harmonica," encounters and kills three men who were lying in wait to ambush him. Harmonica, who had been anticipating a confrontation with an outlaw named Frank, deduces that the men were likely associated with Cheyenne's gang. His reasons for pursuing Frank remain unclear. Meanwhile, Frank and his gang commit a brutal massacre at the Sweetwater ranch, murdering Brett McBain and his three children as they prepare for a celebration. Soon after, Jill McBain, a former prostitute and recently widowed wife of Brett McBain, arrives at Sweetwater, having married Brett just a month prior in New Orleans. Frank deliberately plants evidence at the crime scene to frame Cheyenne for the murders. As Jill grapples with the shocking events, she begins to search for answers to uncover the motive behind the killings.
