Webscoe Industries, led by its ambitious CEO Ross Webster, hires programmer Gus Gorman, whose illicit manipulation of the company payroll results in an embezzlement of $85,000. Recognizing Gus’s technical expertise, Webster coerces him into joining his schemes for financial domination, enlisting the support of his authoritative sister Vera and his alluring mistress Lorelei Ambrosia. Meanwhile, Superman demonstrates his heroism by extinguishing a fire at a chemical plant, showcasing his unwavering commitment to public safety. In his civilian identity as Clark Kent, he attends his high school reunion in Smallville, reconnecting with Lana Lang, a former childhood friend now raising her young son, Ricky. During a picnic outing with Lana, Superman intervenes to save Ricky from a dangerous combine harvester accident, further solidifying his role as a protector.
