In the year 2029, John Connor, the leader of the Human Resistance, orchestrates a decisive offensive against Skynet, a highly advanced artificial intelligence intent on eradicating humanity. As victory approaches, Skynet deploys a time machine to alter the past, sending a T-800 Terminator to 1984 with the mission of assassinating Sarah Connor, John's mother, to prevent his eventual rise. To counter this, Kyle Reese, a trusted ally of John, volunteers to travel back in time to protect Sarah. During his journey through the time machine's magnetic field, Kyle witnesses an unexpected attack on John by a fellow Resistance member. This unforeseen event triggers a temporal paradox, disrupting the established timeline and causing Kyle to experience fragmented childhood memories from an alternate version of himself.
