The narrative opens with the depiction of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, a pivotal event in Indian history. Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer orders his troops to fire upon a gathering of Punjabi civilians in Amritsar, resulting in the tragic loss of hundreds of lives. Among the survivors is Pargat Singh, a young revolutionary who escapes but suffers the devastating loss of his mother and sister in the tragedy. The British government manipulates the narrative, labeling the victims as armed rebels who allegedly attacked the army, despite no casualties among British soldiers. Efforts to report the truth, particularly through publications like Punjab Samachar, are suppressed by the authorities. The film transitions to introduce C. Sankaran Nair, an eminent Indian barrister and member of the Viceroy's Council, who is honored with a knighthood by the British Crown. This sets the stage for a deeper exploration of colonial injustice and resistance during the era.
