The story follows Costao Fernandes, a diligent customs officer in Goa during the 1990s, portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Driven by his commitment to uphold the law, he uncovers a gold smuggling operation threatening to undermine the region's integrity. Acting on a crucial tip, Costao tracks the smugglers and, in a moment of self-defense, fatally shoots Peter, who was attempting to flee with the contraband. Unbeknownst to him, Peter is the brother of an influential politician. Following the politician's victory in the upcoming state election, Costao becomes the target of a relentless campaign of retribution. The politician exploits state resources to orchestrate an unjust trial, aiming to discredit and destroy Costao's career. The narrative highlights themes of integrity, power dynamics, and the challenges of pursuing justice in a corrupt system.
